Comments: A truly novel Japanese maple with distinctive columnar habit found by Ken Twombley of Twombley's Nursery in CT growing at a church in e. Connecticut. New leaves crimson-red, darken to burgundy in summer often giving a two-tone effect. A narrow column to 15' tall and 4-5' wide. Spectacular red fall color and dark red stems provide winter effect. Excellent vertical accent! Sun tolerant but will also take light shade.
