Comments: A deciduous shrub to around 6' tall and wide. Leaves are medium green, opposite and simple, elliptic to oval in shape. Flowers open earlier than other weigela species (April/May) grouped 3-5. Petals are funnel-shaped, rosy pink outside with yellow throats inside, 1" wide. Fruit is a gray-brown capsule, harboring numerous tiny, winged seeds.
