Comments: A conical tree to around 30'. Young branchlets are yellow-brown, but older bark is distinctly reddish brown and scaly. Needles are tinier than most spruce, 1/2" long, bright green and densely set. Young cones are attractively colored purple and green, ripening to reddish brown in the fall.
