Comments: Slow-growing, deciduous tree with very large, dark green to bluish green leaves. A leaf can be up to 3' long and 2' wide, made up of many bipinnately compound leaflets. This tree's habit is somewhat disconcerting to many because of its limited and coarse branching as a young tree. Mature trees become 60' tall and wide, oval, upright with irregular branching, along with the rough, platy dark brown bark, make for outstanding winter effect. A great shade tree not commonly seen in landscapes.
