Comments: This is a large, native, deciduous flowering shrub growing 6 – 10’ tall and nearly as wide. It is a rounded, multi-stemmed, slightly suckering shrub with mostly upright stems. Abundant bottlebrush-like, white, fragrant flowers occur in April before leaves emerge. Excellent dark blue-green, pest-free foliage in summer is followed by brilliant yellows and reds in fall often with the colors all present on the same leaf. Best in the shrub border or in groups for maximum effect.
