Comments: A native North American tree growing to 40-60'. Weakly conical when young but with maturity becomes open and the crown arches with drooping branchlets. Large, heart-shaped leaves can be up to 7" long and 41/2" wide. Vigorous grower, so give it room. Grows in a variety of conditions: flood plains, fields, roadsides or city parks. Tolerant of many soil types, wind and pollution.
