Comments: This evergreen grows to 150' tall in its native setting; in the landscape it will reach 70'. Distinguished from other firs by hairy gray young shoots. Cones measure 4-6" in length, are held upright and confined to the uppermost branches. Needles are dark green above, 2 bands of white stomata beneath. An important forest tree in central Europe.
