Comments: Who wouldn't like an easy-to-grow, dense, deer resistant shrub bathed in golden foliage? This fast-growing, disease resistant hybrid (from North American native parents) is a great replacement for the invasive burning-bush. It is a deciduous, suckering shrub growing 5' high and wide, valued for its outstanding summer foliage, turning even more intense in the fall, which is quite striking. Tiny sulfur-yellow, tubular flowers occur June through August and attract bees and hummingbirds. Fruit capsules are light brown with numerous tiny seeds. This selection is a good, tough shrub useful for low hedges or accent points.
