.
Common name: Ember Waves® arborvitae
Family: Cupressaceae (cypress family)
Distribution: hybrid: selection of Thuja standishii × T. plicata
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5
Life form: Evergreen tree
Plant Patent Info.: PP25,363; 18 August, 2015
Comments: A recent introduction of evergreen conifer from Monrovia Nursery, Azusa, CA, selected and named for its bright golden-yellow needles in late winter and early spring. Summer foliage changes to a soft green with some yellow contrast at the tips of the branches. This tree grows strongly upright to 25' and can be used to form tall screens. This species is more resistant to deer browsing but antler rubbing by bucks can still be an issue.
