Comments: A deciduous shrub to 12' tall in its native habitat of eastern North America. Attractive May flowers interspersed with leafy bracts give this variety its name. Fruit is a capsule containing numerous tiny brown, winged seed. Fall color is orange-red. A rare shrub for the collector providing good flowering qualities.
