Acer campestre 'WFHhedge3' Emerald Splendor™
Common name:
Emerald Splendor™ hedge maple
Family:
Aceraceae (maple family)
Distribution:
Species native to Europe, n. Africa and w. Asia
Hardiness:
USDA Zone 4
Life form:
Deciduous tree
Comments:
This small, deciduous tree offers a more typical rounded habit with distinctive winged, corky stems. The tree naturally grows more slowly than many other larger lawn trees and would make a good choice for use near power lines. It can also be easily trimmed and maintained as a compact hedge or screen. Height can be controlled through annual maintenance but will grow 15-18' tall if left to its own recourse. The small foliage is a crisp spring green turning yellow in fall. Klyn Nurseries introduction.
