Comments:
One of several hybrid dogwoods developed through the breeding efforts of Dr. Elwin Orton, Rutgers University, selected for resistance to dogwood anthracnose and powdery mildew. Hyperion® blooms white (floral bracts) in late spring, 3-4" across, opening intermediately between flowering dogwood and Chinese flowering dogwood. Red fruits mature in autumn and fall color ranges from yellow to tints of purple. This small tree grows to 20' Upon maturity, the mottled gray-brown bark is very attractive. Best used as a specimen or accent plant.
