Comments: A spreading broadleaf evergreen shrub with rounded, dark green leaves. Reported at nearly 40-years-old to be 13' tall and wide. Doubtful will reach this size in central Ohio. Often hedged into various shapes. Tiny, fragrant flowers attract bees as they open in March/April. Glossy leaves are dark green. Winter foliage varies with exposure, from dark green to bronze yellow-green. Resistant to deer and rabbit browsing. Use as hedge, specimen or in a mass.
