Comments:
A rare deciduous flowering tree growing 20' high, about half as wide. Flowers are different than our native dogwood having narrow, creased, white bracts that don’t fully open giving a "Chinese Lantern" look. Holds foliage later than our dogwood and has reddish fall color. Glossy red fruit is attractive but readily eaten by birds. Best used as a specimen and placed in front of a dark background to accentuate flowers. Resistant to dogwood anthracnose.
