This cultivar was introduced from France around 1987 but only recently has become popular in the U.S. A large shrub to 6-8' tall and wide, Vanilla Strawberry panicle hydrangea blooms on current season’s wood beginning in mid-summer but persisting into autumn. The name applies to the changing color pattern of its large, upright flower clusters which initially open white but later become strawberry red, 3-8" wide.
