Comments: A deciduous tree with a habit that is more compact than the species and grows to 40' tall and wide. Flowers are inconspicuous, opening in early spring. Leaves are alternate, simple and lance-shaped with abruptly pointed tips and coarsely toothed margins. Dark green summer foliage takes on an orange tinted fall color that is superior to the species. Fruits are tiny, dark brown achenes. Selected in 1990 out of Oregon and one of the hardiest of the selections.
