Comments:
A deciduous shrub, 8-10' tall by 6' wide with an upright, layered habit. Leaves are opposite, simple and broad-rounded with distinctly pointed tips. White flowers unfold as 4" wide clusters in late May to early June, some three weeks later than the species. Heavy fruit production. Fall color is reddish purple. Flowers are composed of sterile florets.
