A slow-growing, rounded evergreen shrub with dense foliage, eventually attaining a height and spread of 9'. Leaves are scale-like, aromatic when bruised, bright green year-round. Spray-like branches are flat and regular. Bark on younger wood is shiny reddish brown, turning grayish brown on older stems. Tolerates wet sites better than most conifers.
