Very attractive reddish brown bark and soft, sage-green foliage. Autumn color is russet or soft brown. Good as an accent in large areas. One of several cultivars in the trade but is, by far, the most pendulous form so far introduced. Originated from New Zealand only 3 years ago but is becoming wide-spread in the trade. "Cypress knees" develop when planted in wet sites.
