Comments: A small tree or large shrub with dense, ascending branches, conical in youth, becoming rounded with age. Can grow to 20' tall and nearly as wide. Bark on older trunks smooth, gray-brown with vertical fissures, quite pleasing. White, fragrant flowers occur in late May in 4-8" drooping racemes. Leaves are dark green, large (3-8" long) and can become a pleasant yellow in fall.
