Comments: A small, densely branched, deciduous shrub 3-4' tall and wide. Deep red flower clusters open late May to early June and often rebloom throughout the growing season. Fruits are an unremarkable tiny capsule. Leaves emerge green tinged with red, soon becoming dark green and sharply tooted along the margins. Fall color varies from yellow to reddish orange and is often quite showy. A tough plant for the sunny shrub border. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil.
