.
Common name: Louise Gable azalea
Family: Ericaceae (heath family)
Distribution: hybrid: Gable hybrid
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5
Life form: Evergreen shrub
Comments: This Gable hybrid is an evergreen azalea well suited as an accent or small specimen. Flowers are produced in abundance in late May and are deep pink with a darker blotch. They appear semi-double but are, in fact, hose-in-hose (where the sepals and petals are equal in size and color and appear to be two flowers stacked one on top of the other). The plant grows 2-3' tall and slightly wider.
