Pinus strobus 'Torulosa' - twisted eastern white pine
Image: Bowman, Jeffery D. - The Dawes Arboretum
.
Common name: twisted eastern white pine
Family: Pinaceae (pine family)
Distribution: Species native to e. North America
Hardiness: USDA Zone 3
Life form: Evergreen tree
Comments: A strong, vigorously growing evergreen tree, somewhat columnar, with both twisted branches and attractive blue-green needles. It can grow 1-2' per year when young but The Arboretum's oldest plant is over 30 years and is only 22' tall and 19' wide. This would make a nice large specimen or accent plant.
