Common name: Tannenbaum mugo pine, Tannenbaum Swiss mountain pine
Family: Pinaceae (pine family)
Distribution: Species native to Europe
Hardiness: USDA Zone 3
Life form: Evergreen shrub
Comments: A conical, dark green evergreen with a slow to medium growth rate. Eventually grows to 10' tall and 6' wide. A perfectly shaped, tough-as-nails dwarf pine tree. This compact plant makes a nice specimen for a narrow spot or good addition to a conifer garden. Subject to pine needle scale and sawfly damage, but otherwise quite adaptable to urban conditions.
