.
Common name: Raraflora western white pine
Family: Pinaceae (pine family)
Synonym: Pinus monticola 'Pygmaea'
Distribution: Species native to w. North America
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5
Life form: Evergreen tree
Comments: A slow-growing dwarf, rounded, evergreen conifer of witches'-broom origin. This miniature plant should stay small for a long time. Only 1" of blue-green growth per year occurs on this western white pine cultivar. Expect 1-3' tall and wide in 10 years. Would make a nice miniature specimen or addition to a rock or conifer garden.
