Image: Ecker, Michael E. - The Dawes Arboretum
.
Common name: Suncrest Norway spruce
Family: Pinaceae (pine family)
Synonym: Picea abies 'Suncrest No. 2'
Distribution: Species native to Europe
Hardiness: USDA Zone 4
Life form: Evergreen tree
Comments: A slow-growing, rounded plant with dark green foliage of witches' broom origin. This small, dwarf evergreen grows 1-6" per year. In ten years it should be no more than 6' tall. Would make a nice specimen for a tight area or add to a conifer collection.
