Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Snow Flurry'

Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Snow Flurry' - Snow Flurry dawn redwood
.
Common name: Snow Flurry dawn redwood
Family: Cupressaceae (cypress family)
Synonym: Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'McCraken's White'
Distribution: Species native to c. China
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5
Life form: Deciduous tree
Comments: A large growing, deciduous conifer selection having green and white variegated needles. While maturing slightly smaller than the species, it can still grow 1½' per year, potentially growing up to 80' tall and 20' wide after many years. It has a conical habit and tapering trunk broadening to a buttressed base. In fall the needles turn a coppery color. Would work well as a specimen or accent plant but give it room to grow.
