Comments: This is one of the most floriferous of all the crab apples, impressive in late April to early may with large, 1" or larger, single flowers, excellent dark green foliage, and large persistent red fruit. Named in honor of the late, great plantsman, Dr. Donald Wyman. Form is rounded, frequently found to be slightly wider than tall. 20-year-old specimens have been measured at 18' tall by 20' wide. Shows good resistance to most diseases and, therefore, it is considered to be free of disease problems. Ideally suited for planting under power lines, small tree lawns, street tree plantings and foundation plantings.
