Comments: One of original rosybloom crab apples and named for Chilko Lake of s.w. British Columbia. Seldom grown and virtually out of commerce since early 1950. Broad- crowned with purplish leaves at first. It has a spreading habit with early May flowers up to 2" wide, purplish-red at first then fading to purple-pink. Large fruit up to 2" long with a bright crimson, shiny skin is edible. It is an alternate year producer.
