Comments: A deciduous tree growing 15-20' tall and wide with semi-double flowers produced in late April or early May. It makes an attractive small tree that positively glows in its early spring beauty. The flowers are a rich purple-red that fade somewhat as they mature, taking on noticeable, but less lively, purple tones. In autumn it produces deep red or purple fruits up to 1" across. Best used as a specimen.
