Comments: A small, deciduous, flowering tree growing 20-30' tall and often as wide. It has smooth gray, handsome bark. Blooms fairly late in the season making it less likely to be damaged by late frosts. Produces an exceptional abundance of large, beautiful flowers, flushed rose-purple on the outside and pure white inside. To accentuate the flowers, put it in front of an evergreen screen or grouping. Lovely accent or specimen tree that also makes a good shade tree. Plant in full sun, in acid soil with high organic matter content.
