Comments:
A small, broadly upright, deciduous tree reaching at least 20' tall and wide. Large, yellow, cup-shaped flowers appear in late April. The six-inch plus flowers are distinctive in their heavy substance and goblet shape. Typically flowers late enough to avoid frost. Foliage is heavily textured and puckered. Fall color is yellow-bronze. Makes a good specimen tree.
