.
Common name: pyramidal tulip-tree, pyramidal yellow-poplar
Family: Magnoliaceae subfam. Liriodendroideae (magnolia family)
Synonym: Liriodendron tulipifera 'Arnold'
Distribution: Species native to e. North America
Hardiness: USDA Zone 4
Life form: Deciduous tree
Comments: A deciduous tree growing 50-60' high by 15-20' wide. Narrow habit comes from upright branches that almost parallel the center leader. Older plants become wider and lose some of the fastigiate character. Conspicuously large greenish yellow flowers in May-June and uniquely shaped leaves identify this lovely native species. Use as an accent plant.
