Comments: This deciduous tree grows to 60' tall with a broad conical crown. Selected for its reliable fall color, pleasing combinations of black and crimson. Summer foliage consists of glossy, medium green, star shaped, 4-8" long leaves. Flowers are inconspicuous, but yield to fruit capsules equipped with sharp prickles. The bark on this cultivar is smoother than the species.
