Comments: A strongly upright, conical tree 40-60' tall. Extremely winged branches and rose-red fall color. Leaves star-shaped, 4-8" across and lustrous dark green. Flowers inconspicuous (April/May), but yield to dark brown, sharply prickled fruit capsules. Twenty-five year old test plants are to this date fruitless, potentially a major improvement over the species.
