Comments: A very graceful evergreen shrub, 3-6' high and wide. Spring growth is attractive bright red, followed by purple-red winter coloration. Flowering occurs in May as 2-3" long, drooping flower clusters. Good plant for massing, shrub borders, or used with rhododendrons as a contrast to their dull foliage. Does best in moist, well-drained, organic soil in part to full shade, does not withstand drought conditions or drying winds.
