Comments: This broadleaf evergreen shrub has graceful arching branches and can grow 3-6' tall and wide. Newly emerging shoots are red. Shiny dark green leaves are 2-5" long and turn burgundy red in fall. Fragrant flowers are white and urn-shaped; they appear in April and May. Does best in acid, well-drained soil in partial to full sun. Good for naturalizing or in the shrub border.
