Comments: A broadly conical, broadleaf evergreen tree to 15-20' tall. Spiny leaves are dark, glossy green, 2-4" long. Flowers open in May as tiny, white clusters in the leaf axils. Fruits ripen vivid reddish-orange (of an unusual color), 1/4" wide, in late summer and persist into winter. Requires a male pollinator for fruiting.
