Comments: A broadleaf evergreen tree with dark glossy green, spiny leaves. It grows as an upright form with a well-defined central leader. A 5-year-old plant in collections has grown nearly 7' tall and only about 2' wide. In the presence of a suitable male pollinator, the fruits develop into orange-red berries that persist through winter.
