Comments: A female selection of old time cultivation first appearing in the trade around 1938. Forms an upright to rounded broadleaf evergreen shrub maturing 8-10' tall. Foliage consists of simple, alternate, dark glossy green leaves. Flowers usually singly produced in the leaf axils (May) on current season's wood. Fruits (produced in the presence of a suitable male pollinator) ripen blue-black and persist into winter. Plant in full sun in rich, moist, slightly acid soil.
