Family:

Distribution:
Species native to China
Hardiness:

Comments:
A medium to large, deciduous shrub, growing 10' tall and somewhat wider. Strap-shaped yellow flowers open mid-January and remain effective for several weeks -- they are larger and more sweetly scented than is typical of the species. Foliage consists of alternate, simple leaves with wavy margins, bluish green in summer, then taking on yellow fall color. A choice specimen for the landscape to brighten up late winter with its blooms. Insect and disease resistant with only occasional powdery mildew problems.
