.
Common name: Street Keeper® thornless honey locust
Family: Fabaceae (pea family)
Distribution: Species native to c. and e.-c. North America
Hardiness: USDA Zone 4
Life form: Deciduous tree
Plant Patent Info.: PP21,698; 8 February, 2011
Comments: A very narrow, strongly upright cultivar of honey locust, this tree will grow up to 45' tall and only 20' wide. It has deeper green feathery foliage than other cultivars and the fall color is a vivid golden yellow. Honey locusts can be messy trees, but this one is not a profuse bloomer so there is hardly any fruit. A choice specimen for a larger garden, it also does well as an urban street tree and able to site nearer overhead utility lines than many other trees.
