Comments: One of highest rated trees in Ohio State's Shade Tree Evaluation trials, this vigorous, eventually 60' shade tree has simple, prominently toothed leaves rather than compound as in most ash. Leaves are lustrous dark green covering a broad, rounded crown. A seedless tree with good pest resistance, except to borers. Has little fall color, leaves staying green into late fall. Plant in full sun in moist, well-drained soil.
