This olive tree shrub relative has deciduous leaves and small, greenish, unshowy flowers. Grows 4-8' tall or sometimes as a small tree in the wild with a spreading branch habit. Fruit is produced on female plants and is a small, cylindrical, purple drupe. Grows in most any garden soil, thrives in moist soil in full sun and can be used in the border or a natural planting.
