Fagus sylvatica 'Franken'

.
.
Common name: Franken European beech
Family: Fagaceae (beech family)
Distribution: Species native to Europe
Hardiness: USDA Zone 4
Life form: Deciduous tree
Comments: An exceedingly rare and choice variegated cultivar of deciduous tree. This very slow growing form will mature as a small, to oval tree to 10-12' tall after many years. Heavily variegated leaves are primarily withe flecked with green. Due to heavy variegation this tree is best located in part sun or away from the suns strongest rays. Makes an attractive focal point in a protected area away from the suns heat. A rare and a must-have for any variegated plant connoisseur!
