Comments: This large native deciduous tree may grow to 100' tall by 60-70' wide. Distinctly smooth gray bark. Fruits stand out in the fall as 3/4" prickly husks containing triangular seeds. The chocolate-brown nuts are edible and relished by wildlife. Fall color is excellent clear yellow to golden bronze.
