A medium-sized, deciduous tree to 20-30' in height with an equal spread. Shape is broad and conical. Showy, white bracts give this tree its common name, however it is not likely to flower for the first 7-10 years. Plant in light shade in moist, well-drained soil, high in organic matter. Water during drought. Marginally hardy (particularly when young) in central Ohio so a protected location is a must.
