.
Common name: Korean Gold Japanese plum-yew
Family: Cephalotaxaceae
Synonym: Cephalotaxus harringtonia 'Ogon'
Distribution: Species native to Japan and Korea
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5
Life form: Evergreen shrub
Comments: A fastigiate, evergreen conifer shrub with young leaves wholly yellow, turning yellow-green as the season progresses. This taxus-like plant has a slow growth rate. A good, hardy substitute for the common yew, combining shade and drought tolerance of the latter but unique for its resistance to deer browse. Use as a specimen, accent or foundation plant.
