Comments: This small, shrubby buckeye comes from the moist woodlands of the south-east’s Piedmont. It grows 5-15' and has 3-8" palmate medium green leaves. The flowers are produced in May by 4-8" erect clusters, pale yellow and often "painted' with red, hence the common name. An excellent plant to use in natural areas. It grows with slowly spreading runners.
