Comments: A small, deciduous shrubby tree to 20' tall and wide. Distinguished by smooth, white bark on older trees. Palmately compound leaves have 7-9 narrow leaflets of medium green. Flowers open in mid-May as upright, greenish yellow clusters, larger than Ohio's native. Often defoliating in late summer but sometimes autumn foliage is yellow but occasionally brilliant orange-red. Appropriate for naturalized plantings.
